Julian Wilcox presents at the Spark International Festival of Media Arts and Design 14 Aug 2013 about Māori Journalism – Why? (Duration 1 hour 2 mins)

Julian is a foundation member of Māori Television and was awarded Best Presenter News and Current Affairs 2012 at the New Zealand Film and Television Awards.

With a BA in Māori Language and Politics, he spent 7 years as an announcer at Te Reo Irirangi o Te Upoko o Te Ika. His passion for radio was evident as he continued with roles as Māori Sports Commentator at both Sky Sports and Radio Waatea, and on current affairs show Tawera on radio Waatea.

Julian worked primarily as presenter of award winning current affairs program Native Affairs. He joined the News & Current Affairs at Māori Television in 2004, and since then has presented in the channels leading productions such as Waitangi Day, ANZAC Day, Te Matatini and Native Affairs.
