In 2011 Dan Mace collaborated with Mike Hodgson and Paddy Free of Pitchblack to create a widescreen projection to support their performance at the Kotahitanga cultural festival in Hauraki.

It was a great priviledge to take some of my art home to my own turangawaewae, and always a pleasure to work with Pitchblack.   To open the set we remixed a recording of the Hauraki haka Taiaha Ha, which I illustrated in my handrawn style.  As well as Mike and Paddy, I acknowledge lovely Liane Ngamane and Frank Waitai of the Hauraki Maori Trust Board for their support in pulling this work together, and Jeanne Clarkin who put on the gig.
